Where Modern Elegance Meets Dark Edge
I craft darkly sophisticated clothing and accessories, to bridge the gap between fleeting trends and timeless dark luxury, by creating elevated, wearable pieces that stand apart, so you can confidently express your unique style.
Hello, I am Sumie Tachibana
I design for the bold introverts.
The nonconformists.
The beautifully strange.
The ones who feel too much.
For those who crave elegance with a dark edge.
Substance over show.
Not following trends, but sculpting emotion.
For those who stand out.
Unique, daring, and unapologetically confident.
To some, black is absence.
To me, it’s the presence of unwavering strength.
Bold, confident, steadfast.
It defines my aesthetic.
The strength to stand alone.
Growing up, I was the quiet kid.
Shy, introverted, often invisible, but never empty.
Words failed me, but creativity didn’t.
Music was my first language.
Then I found fashion, and everything changed.
In college, I touched fabric and discovered my true purpose.
Design wasn’t just self-expression, it was self-restoration.
Each stitch built confidence.
Each piece became armor.
I design pieces that embody elegance with a dark edge.
Sophisticated, powerful, bold, and one of a kind.
A balance between statement and subtlety.
Dramatic, but never costume.
Confident, but never loud.
Inspired by the beauty in darkness.
By history, dreams, and resilience.
Every piece is a fragment of my story, reimagined for yours.
This isn’t just fashion.
It’s armor.
It’s language.
It’s a quiet kind of rebellion.
One Designer. One Studio. One Piece at a Time.
Each piece is designed, cut, and sewn by me in my home studio in Richmond, Texas.
I work with high-end deadstock fabrics, often sourced from Italy and France through suppliers in Los Angeles and New York. No factories. No mass production. Just one designer, one studio, and one piece at a time.
Everything is made in small quantities with a focus on quality, longevity, and reducing waste.
Whenever possible, I design adjustable or size-flexible pieces, and I repurpose leftover fabrics into small, functional items.
